John Hope's Walkers and Talkers added a new dimension to this year's EITC outreach. Designed to help more people understand and take advantage of the valuable Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC), and to bring them to John Hope and other Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) sites to have their taxes prepared professionally and for free, the Walkers and Talkers fanned out across our neighborhoods. It was residents talking to residents, in their neighborhoods and in their language. Simple, friendly, and effective. This extra piece of campaign work was made possible thanks to the generous support of the Wal-Mart Foundation and United Way.
